Time for the Whales to shine!

Accomplishments

  • Talked with Professor Berton and got critiques on the animations (1 hr)
  • Finalized animations for GDC (6 hrs)
  • Switched new models and re-binded and re-weightpainted skins (3 hrs)
    • Spent a lot of time trying to get the weightpaint right for Tank SU and Rush SU
  • Looked into the popping animations in some units found in Unity and tried to fix the animations again (2 hrs)
  • Practiced playing the game with Miguel and Jon (5 hrs)
Total Hours: 17 hours

Works In Progress?

Don't think there are any for now? Other than getting ready for GDC that is.

Next Steps

  • Get prepared for the presentation with the team.

Issues

  • Weightpainting was the biggest issue this week. Not really sure why I couldn't get it working right. But I solved it by using the weightpaint from the units and transfering it to the superunits. It worked out in the end.
  • There were some pops in the animation cycles for some of the units/superunits. I'm not really sure why there was popping in Unity when the animation loops smoothly in Maya. I tweaked the animation curves in Maya to fix it, but it's not 100% gone. There is still a slight pop but not as noticeable.

Last Minute Comments

I got all the animations in and we are practicing for the presentation. I am excited to go to GDC again and hopefully our team will have a blast there. GO WHALES!
