I've Been Working On the Whale-Road


Accomplishments

met with Dylan and Anna concerning particles and texture methods (2 hour)
created a test set up for the tank particles (5 hours...)
polished Augher Animations (1.5 hours)
learned the basics of setting up Mechanim (.5 hours)
met with Anna and Alex to discuss the trailer (.5 hours)
Playtested with my friend from back home and gathered feedback (1 hour)
textured Kamakaze Unit and Super Unit (3 hours)

WIP

Particles are very much a work in progress and their something I'm interested in getting into the game to make the units feel different for the player even if some of them are still capsules. I'd like to set up all the particle systems with placeholder assets so I know what methods we'll be using for each section (charging the shot, the missile, and the impact explosion) and to make sure they are all optimized.

Next Steps

I plan on making a large series of balancing revisions to make the game more compelling and bring out some of the strategic diversity. Having the stats of the units displayed to the player will also be helpful since right now they are just guessing based on the names.

Debrief

I hope work keeps getting completed over break and I look forward to getting to present our game to the faculty again.
