Accomplishments
- Rigged Sniper Unit (5 hrs)
- Spent 1 hour thinking about the leg rig and thinking that it probably doesn't work. But I thought too hard and it worked out fine.
- Made a video of the Sniper Unit rig for Desiree and see if she would want any changes before I finalized the rig (0.5 hrs)
- Reviewed the Sniper Unit model and gave Anna feedback. Discussed with her briefly about the model and what problems she was facing (1.5 hrs)
- Took a brief look at Jon's test animation for Augher and commented on our Facebook page (0.25 hrs)
- Corrected some issues with Augher's rig that Henderson pointed out (0.5 hrs)
Works In Progress?
A bit more work this week, but I was able to finish my tasks in time. I was suppose to start rigging Rush unit this week as well, but the team decided to have a redesign for Rush so I had to hold back the rigging. Miguel should be done with Tank Unit modeling phase 1 by tomorrow, so I will jump right to it once he is done.
Next Steps
- Rig all day everyday!
- I should really update some of my MEL scripts...
- Review models
Issues
- Spent an hour pondering about the back legs of Sniper unit and thinking that the rig will probably not work well. Eventually figured out that the topology of the back leg would not have that much of a wide range of motion so everything works out just fine in the end.
- My team member might think I rig pretty fast, but I don't think I'm rigging fast enough. There are still a lot of repeated steps that I do and I'm afraid I'll have finger cramps from clicking too much. So, I really need to figure out a way to boost my efficiency. Time to review my MEL scripts and try something new.
- Henderson found some controllers that had weird rotation transformation. I probably forgot to freeze the controller's transformation before I made a parent constraint to the joint. So I went back and fixed it.
Last Minute Comments
This week was a productive week. The new system we have for this sprint seems to be working well. More tasks are getting completed and the meetings have been great. I feel like there are more stuff going on in our facebook posts too. Let's keep this rolling!
