“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” - Walt Disney
Facing hurdles
This week everyone went through all sorts of obstacles. There were midterms for some, sleep deprivation for others. This all affected our pipeline as the concept artists were trying to generate more ideas for our towers. The rest of the production team stood at a halt for a bit but we were able to solve that issue! For the programmers, Cory is working on overhead while Dylan and Ryan are iterating on things relating to the game. While we are all present mentally, the physical fatigue is coming onto us as we reach the halfway point of the term. Everyone is hopeful though!Motivation becomes discipline with time
With every project, that crazy emotion-filled drive hits at the beginning. As things start to ramp up, the persistence of effort becomes discipline. The team is becoming very diligent with their work. From our conversations online, healthy habits have formed as members actively seek out feedback and others actively give it. Tagging has become second nature. There are also sub-chats for each portion of our team so we can reach each other without flooding the rest of the team.Playing nothing but our game
After some pestering from our advisor Stefan, the programmers have been releasing builds more frequently, whether or not things they have implemented are working. I need to come up with a new naming convention for the builds so we know during which sprint each build was created and what is new from build to build. Perhaps this should evolve into build notes... They will not go live until we have a more working version that we can show others! In difficult times, everyone has faith in each other. Let's get our whale on!
