Kamikaze Whales

This was the end of our third sprint. We had a lot to learn from our mistakes. We're in a good position moving forward!

Producing Things

  • Continuing production on the assets I was assigned as our concept art finishes them
  • Move forward with cleaning up Kamikaze unit and super unit (1 hour)
  • Learn how to import animations and use Mecanim
    • This was unable to happen as I forgot to schedule a meeting with Kai-Lin. Might be postponed until we get the first animations from Augher and Kai-Lin can step me through the motions while getting our first animations in!
  • Update Gantt chart (1 hour)
  • Make cookies (3 hours)
  • Develop GUI with Dylan (2.5 hours)

Proof of Progress

  • Kamikaze superunit

Foreseeing the Future

  • Model Sniper Unit
  • Model Rush Unit
  • Schedule meeting with Kai-Lin for Mecanim
  • Update Gantt chart

Some Other Comments

Important Note: I'm sure I've mentioned this in an earlier post but a lot of my time is spent in weekly meetings, preparing for weekly meetings, coming up with strategies to enhance production. This often spans a couple of days and occurs in between my other obligations.

In the face of the bottleneck on asset production, for this upcoming sprint I am assigning teams to each set of assets. I've realigned our sprint goals for the next few weeks as a response to what was accomplished this week. To better assess our progress, I started a simple analysis sheet to track our percent of work completed based on the week's goals. This will help quantify our overall status from sprint to sprint. I hope that this will compliment the Gantt chart, which gives a more holistic picture compared to the analysis of each sprint.

Now that we have the ball rolling, we're going to start having marketing meetings weekly to help establish our brand and the reputation of our game. Hopefully we'll start getting more graphic-design intensive.
