Orca-strated Chaos


Accomplishments

art feedback (1 hour)
finished texturing augher (4 hours)

played with particle playground (2 hours)
played tower defense games...ya know...for research (2 hours)
      namely OTTD (over the top tower defense) and Kingdom Rush

... time spent trying to accomplish something
tried to write a custom shader to handle team colors (3 hours)

learning particle playground which has very impressive features.

Next Steps

I'm not sure how computationally intensive Particle Playground is or which of it's features are more taxing than others. This will probably require a look at their documentation or maybe some forums, however I suspect we'll find out primarily through implementation and revision. I like the fact that this can be put in before having the models as long as we know what kind of projectile each one has. I think making some rough particle systems with just the basics would dramatically improve the look of the game. This is based of the rewarding sensation of having the (admittedly cheesy looking) explosion when the tank hits anything. If each tower had a unique particle effect players might be encouraged to try more than just tank and support (the current OP combo).

Also getting the test animations and textures for augher will be a very rewarding moment for me and hopefully the whole team!

Debrief

I felt much more on top of my work this week and I think having a buddy system to hold one another accountable was a huge component of that (kudos to Anna).
